Cinthia Duclos

Cinthia Duclos is co-director of the Financial Services Law Research Group (GRDSF) and an associate professor in the Faculty of Law at the Université Laval. She has been a lawyer and member of the Québec Bar since 2008. Duclos received a bachelor of law and a master’s of business administration from Université Laval. She worked at the Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg law firm during her studies, as an articling student and, ultimately, as a lawyer, working mostly in commercial litigation. She obtained her doctorate in business and financial services law from the Faculty of Law at Université Laval in 2019.

Duclos’s primary research and teaching interests are financial services law and corporate law and governance. In her research with the GRDSF, Duclos studies the protection of investors and the organizational challenges involved in investment services. Since joining the GRDSF in 2009, Duclos has actively collaborated, as an author and co-author, on numerous journal articles and book chapters on financial advisory services and portfolio management. She has also given many talks, including as part of the financial services governance unit of a program offered by the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés.
