Martha Crago is McGill University’s vice-principal, Research and Innovation, and chair of SSHRC’s governing council. Crago has also been the chair of the research committee of the U15 group of Canada’s research-intensive universities and is a member of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council’s Committee on Research Partnerships and of the Senior Research Officers of the Association of American Universities.
In 2016, the then Minister of Science of Canada selected her to be a member of Canada’s Fundamental Science Review.
Crago was named a Chevalier dans l'ordre des palmes académiques by the French government and, in 2017, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada.
