“In Conversation With” series concludes during National Indigenous History Month with talk on Indigenous knowledges

June 2, 2022

SSHRC, in partnership with The Conversation Canada, will conclude the inaugural In Conversation With series featuring the winners of SSHRC’s 2021 Impact Awards. Join us on June 14, 2022, at 2 p.m. (eastern), via live webcast, for the talk by Carole Lévesque, who will explore Indigenous knowledges and academia.

Lévesque is a professor at the Urbanisation Culture Société Research Centre at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). She is the founder and director of the DIALOG network, a research and knowledge network facilitating collaboration between universities and Indigenous community partners. Respected by her peers both nationally and internationally, Lévesque has made invaluable contributions to the recognition of Indigenous knowledge systems and the development of Indigenous research. For her work related to the DIALOG network, she was awarded SSHRC’s 2021 Connection Award.

Lévesque’s areas of expertise include Indigenous Peoples and knowledges, community integration, social environment, and sustainable development. Join her as she discusses building bridges between scientific and Indigenous knowledges. The talk will be in French, with simultaneous interpretation and closed captioning in both official languages, and will be followed by a question-and-answer period. A video recording of the event will be made available afterwards.

Don’t miss it; join the conversation!
