Introduction

You have been invited to participate on a Partnership Grants—Stage 2 application as a co-applicant with an optional biosketch.

You are encouraged to consult the instructions while you are completing your form by clicking on the “Instructions” button at any time within a screen. This button will link you directly to the instructions for the screen you are completing.

Accepting your invitation

When you accept this invitation, you will be required to complete the Accept Invitation—Co-applicant Information form and will have the option of completing a brief biosketch that is included in the form.

Once this form is complete, you must return to your Portfolio page and verify and correct the data until the Verification Report indicates successful verification. A PDF copy of your Accept Invitation form and optional biosketch (if applicable) will be attached to the applicant’s application form. The status on the Portfolio will change from “In Progress” to “Verified.” If you wish, you can preview and print the form (in PDF) by clicking the “Preview” button.

When the project director electronically submits their application form to the institution’s research administrator, the status on your Portfolio for that Accept Invitation form will change to “Submitted.”

Removal from the application

If you decide not to participate in an application, you may click on “Delete.” The system will then remove the invitation from your Portfolio and from SSHRC’s database. It will generate an email notifying the applicant that you have deleted the invitation.

The applicant may remove you from the list of participants at any time, at which point the invitation will disappear from your Portfolio and SSHRC’s database, and you will receive a system-generated email.

Application summary

The information provided by the applicant in the Identification module of their application form is automatically included here. The fields are not editable; they are read-only.

Co-applicant information

Co-applicants may be individuals from any of the following:

Select the appropriate discipline by clicking the “List…” button. If an applicable discipline is not listed, select a primary discipline and then select an entry such as “Other (relevant discipline)” (e.g., Other Psychology, Other Anthropology, Other Sociology) from the list, and enter the specific discipline in the box provided.

Organization—departement/division
Select the organization and department/division using the “List…” button. The Country list will appear. Select the country, the province or state (if applicable), and then the organization. If the organization or department/division is not listed, select “Other” from the list and type the information in the box provided.

Email
Include an email address at which you can be reached.

Web address
If applicable, include your website address. This will enable us to verify your information.

Biosketch (optional)

Included in the Accept Information form is a text box where you may choose to include a brief biosketch. The biosketch can help describe your research and professional experience relevant to the topic and objectives of the partnership application.

Type your text directly into the box, or cut and paste it from a document. The text box allows only plain, unformatted text—not bold type, italics, script, underscoring, formulas or special characters. Your text must not exceed one page on the PDF copy. Text that exceeds the capacity of the text box will be cut off when printed. After you click “Save,” click “Preview” to confirm all your text is included in the form. You can edit the saved form if your text is cut off.

Prepare your biosketch generally following the headings proposed below, as applicable. You may choose to devote more space to certain sections depending on the nature of your past contributions and experience (for example, co-applicants from non-academic sectors may use a larger Relevant experience section). Your name will appear automatically at the top of the page for reviewers, but your current position will not appear on the form, so the Employment/affiliations section must be included in your biosketch.
