2022 Joint SSHRC-NSERC Leaders Meeting

Session summary

The third annual Joint SSHRC-NSERC Leaders Meeting was held virtually from November 30 to December 2, 2022. The meeting included separate days for SSHRC Leaders (November 30) and NSERC Leaders (December 1), followed by a joint SSHRC and NSERC meeting (December 2). The meeting was attended by 118 Leaders, or their delegates, from 82 institutions. The objective of the meeting was to engage SSHRC and NSERC Leaders on key developments related to policy, programs and research-related activities.

The report summarizes the main points discussed at the SSHRC Leaders meeting of November 30, as well as the joint meeting of the SSHRC and NSERC Leaders network on December 2. The joint meeting featured an “Ask us Anything” session with the SSHRC and NSERC presidents on tri-agency institutional programs, a session on research security, and a “What we Heard” session based on presentations on the Tri-Agency Grants Management Solution at both the SSHRC and NSERC Leaders meetings.

The next SSHRC Leaders meeting will be held on May 30, 2023, during the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, at York University, while the annual Joint Leaders Meeting will be held from November 29 to December 1, 2023.
