The Storytellers are back! Check out this year's Top 25
SSHRC has announced the Top 25 finalists for its 2019 Storytellers contest. The annual competition challenges postsecondary students to show -----  in three minutes or 300 words -----  how social sciences and humanities research impacts Canadians and how it helps us to understand and improve the world around us. Starting on April 29, SSHRC will feature five finalists each week via its website and social media.

Find out who will be this year's Final Five winners at the 2019 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences in June.

Solo exhibition on identity and belonging, a powerful gift to visitors
Environmental studies professor and visual artist Andil Gosine assembled a compelling multilayered exhibition that reconsiders his immigration to Canada as a teenager and early encounters with racism. He skillfully interlaces this charged personal narrative with themes of both servitude and hope.

Indigenous studies in public education
There are more Indigenous youth than ever before attending public schools in Canada. Like all students, it's important for them to see themselves reflected in the curriculum. Often, that's not happening. Jean-Paul Restoule wants to find out why. He will also examine how teachers can help Indigenous students learn about who they are.
