Maïka Sondarjee is a Banting postdoctoral researcher in the political science department at the Université de Montréal, and an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa’s School of International Development and Global Studies. Her SSHRC-funded doctoral research focused on the World Bank’s public participation processes and the inclusion of local populations in multilateral policy-making between 1980 and 2014. In 2017, she was one of the winners of the International Policy Ideas Challenge organized by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and SSHRC. She drafted a policy for GAC on the inclusion of women of the Global South in the development of Canada’s feminist international assistance policy. Sondarjee has worked with nongovernmental organizations in Burkina Faso, India and Bolivia, and is participating in a capacity building project for women activists in the Sahel.
