SSHRC Gold Medal for Achievement in Research ($100,000)
The SSHRC Gold Medal for Achievement in Research is the Council’s highest
research honour. It is awarded to an individual whose leadership,
dedication, and originality of thought have significantly advanced
understanding in his or her field of research, enriched Canadian society,
and contributed to the country's cultural and intellectual life.

The SSHRC Aurora Prize recognizes an outstanding new scholar who is
building a reputation for exciting and original research in the social
sciences or humanities.

Molson Prize ($50,000)
Each year, the Canada Council for the Arts, in conjunction with SSHRC,
awards two $50,000 prizes to distinguished Canadians, one in the arts
and the other in the social sciences and humanities. Funded by a $1
million endowment from the Molson Family Foundation, the
Molson Prizes
honour Canadians who have made important contributions to Canada’s
cultural and intellectual heritage.
