SSHRC is excited to mark Science Odyssey, a week-long, collaborative, cross-Canada event, geared to engage and inspire Canadians through activities in many areas of science.
Science Odyssey runs from Friday, May 6 to Sunday, May 15, 2016. Events include science-to-the-streets celebrations, visits to labs, science fairs, talks and conferences, school field trips, encounters with researchers, special exhibits, online activities and much more.
SSHRC is proud to highlight a number of events during the week. This includes a lecture by Janet Werker at The University of British Columbia on May 12 at 5:30 p.m. Werker, whose research has fundamentally changed how we understand language acquisition, is the 2015 SSHRC Impact Award Gold Medal winner.
SSHRC will also be at the 84th Congress of the Association francophone pour le savoir (Acfas) at the Université du Québec à Montréal from May 9 to 13. The Congress will feature a debate on the preservation of urban heritage and a symposium on the role of social sciences and humanities in innovation. Learn more about SSHRC’s Acfas activities.
