Budget Expenses

Broadly speaking, you may use SSHRC grant funds only for direct costs involved in the conduct of research and the communication of research results.

A grant holder or co-applicant must not have any financial or personal interest, direct or indirect, in any transaction charged against SSHRC grants.

Unless otherwise specified, all budget costs must conform to the rates and regulations of the participating institutions and must be fully justified in your research proposal. Explanations and examples of both eligible and ineligible expenses are outlined in SSHRC's Grantholder's Guide.
