Priscilla Renouf

Priscilla Renouf

Priscilla Renouf is the Canada Research Chair in North Atlantic Archaeology and a professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland. An internationally respected archaeologist, Dr. Renouf and her research team are currently excavating ancient hunting and fishing settlements on the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland. Her work contributes to an understanding of how prehistoric peoples adapted to the changing environment of the North Atlantic and how they impacted surrounding landscapes. Dr. Renouf collaborates with an international group of archaeologists working in the North Atlantic regions of Labrador, Greenland, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Norway and regularly shares her work with both academic and public audiences. She is the founding chair of The Rooms Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador, a new cultural institution that integrates the provincial museum, provincial s and provincial art gallery. She holds a BA and an MA from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
