Paul K. Bates

Paul K. Bates has been a leader and educator in the Canadian business community for more than two decades. In 2004, he was appointed to a five-year term as the Dean of the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. In 2003, following service on the boards of the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Canadian Investment Dealers Association, Mr. Bates was appointed as a part-time commissioner to the Ontario Securities Commission and is currently chair, Human Resources and Compensation Committee.

Mr. Bates has held the president's office at four major brokerage and investment firms, including, most recently, Charles Schwab Canada. In 2002, he was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for community service. He is the past board chair at the Canadian Psychiatric Research Foundation.
